PS5 release date, specs, news and rumors for Sony’s PlayStation 5 PS5 (or PlayStation 5) is the next-generation PlayStation, releasing in late 2020, after a long and incredible decade that saw Sony emerge as the clear winner in the home console wars in the eyes of many (sorry Xbox). So what do we know about the PS5 so far? The hysteria started in early 2019, when Mark Cerny, the chief architect on Sony's next console, confirmed that the company was working on the successor to the PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro. We wouldn't get the official name or release date until much later, but Cerny did shed some light on the next-gen console's capabilities, revealing that it would retain a disc drive, and would have something to do with Sony's game streaming ambitions; other than that there was little else to go on. Death Stranding still hasn't attracted a release date yet, but creator Hideo Kojima has thrown us a bone by confirming the game has now reached the 'critical phase' of development. That's the bit that comes before debugging, in case you wondered. Speaking in a post on Twitter, the Kojima Productions head honcho revealed that plays Death Stranding on a daily basis on PS4, in an effort to determine which content will make the cut or be given the chop. '[Death Stranding] is not yet in difficulty adjustment or debugging stage, but combining all the parts made in [different] tools and development machines into one game,' ( via Eurogamer ). 'It's a process to connect the parts, to fix the operation, feelings, the production, the specifications, the trouble, and to strip the flesh and [make changes] while I play the game directly every day on PS4. With the  Resident Evil 2  remake  right around the corner, fans of Capcom’s hugely  successful  survival-horror franchise are naturally curious about what’s next. Well, if  Resetera  moderator Dusk Golem is to be believed, then the next  Resident Evil  project  could very  well be a full-blown remake of  Resident Evil 3: Nemesis . According to Dusk Golem, who has accurately leaked information about the  Resident Evil   franchise in the past, the  Resident Evil 3: Nemesis  remake is already in active development.  Dusk Golem didn’t elaborate on how far along the  Resident Evil 3  remake is in  development  or what platforms it’s aiming for, but he did indicate that if both it and  the  Resident Evil 2   remake sell well, that Capcom may pursue even more remakes in the  future.
